Amazon may still come through, only their usual Turbotax deal of the year didn't happen on the 26th or today.

The upcoming (first 12/29) Costco coupon offers are at https://www.costco.com/online-offers.ht ... MVM_header

Turbotax Deluxe or Deluxe Plus Country volition be $10 off (presumably $39). The more expensive versions are $15 off.

Costco isn't offering the disc version online, only downloads, but mayhap they'll accept discs at the warehouse.

yep- just bought the disc at costco today.

Didn't want to wait 2 days for the possible sale?

Been a long time user of Turbotax and noticed that ever year it seems similar they are getting stingier with "discounts" and are trying to extract as much as a possible from its loyal users. I've decided to jump send to H&R Block for half the toll.

Unsolicited reminder --- in terms of the download/desktop version, MOST people do non need Premier. Intuit goes out of their way to scare people into thinking that the more expensive Premier or Dwelling & Business organisation editions are required for certain things simply they are non.

Deluxe download/desktop version handles investments (Schedule D), G-1 partnerships and Self-Employed (Schedule C) but fine.

The same is NOT true for the online version where the Palatial version is defective which leads to a lot of confusion.

Fair plenty - if you demand actress handholding then the slight extra coin is certainly worth information technology. If, like many people, you lot are filling out the exact same forms every year and you simply need to enter this years numbers (or download them) then the Palatial contains everything most people demand.

I observe Intuit'southward web page very misleading : https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-ta ... e/desktop/

"Premier Recommended for: Investments & rental property"
"Habitation & Concern Recommended for: Personal & Self-Employed"

Every bit someone with both investments and who is self-employed, Palatial is all I demand.

I agree with you.

Huh, each twelvemonth I retrieve "Well, that one says it is better for our situation, but our situation has only become more than uncomplicated and I haven't had bug yet." Deluxe fabricated RSUs and ESPP easier than ever last twelvemonth. Which was funny, because I stuck with Deluxe to avoid changing the procedures...

Glad Deluxe works for you. I choose not to risk it (if you search last few year's multitude of threads near 8606 and other errors yous will observe in those threads that some of those folks used Deluxe).
I actually assist with three other family tax returns in addition to my own (thanks TurboTax for 5 costless federal efiles!) and then I consider the $55 price tag ($45 if you include today's souvenir card) a bargain compared to almost all other software and products I buy.

It worked! At 12:04 AM Pacific, I found the deal and bought it. $39.99 for TT Deluxe + Land, plus $10 gift menu. Bought it, downloaded it. So far take merely been charged $29.99, guess the $10.00 charge for souvenir card to follow.

https://www.amazon.com/TurboTax-Softwar ... to_dp&th=1

Premier also on sale today at $54.99 (typically lowest price of flavor).

Unsolicited reminder --- in terms of the download/desktop version, Most people practise not need Premier. Intuit goes out of their way to scare people into thinking that the more expensive Premier or Home & Business editions are required for certain things only they are not.

Deluxe download/desktop version handles investments (Schedule D), 1000-ane partnerships and Self-Employed (Schedule C) merely fine.

The same is Non true for the online version where the Palatial version is lacking which leads to a lot of defoliation.

Every year people chinkle in with this "salvage yourself $xv and don't purchase Premier" and so later every year some of those same folks written report dorsum with threads virtually using Palatial and making a mistake on their 8606 or some other error with RSUs, ESPP, backdoor roth, Options, etc. and having to refile their taxes with corrections. I similar the extra questions and guidance to handle all my situations and the extra $15 isn't big plenty of a brunt for me to take a brusk cut.

Fair enough - if you demand actress handholding so the slight actress money is certainly worth information technology. If, like many people, y'all are filling out the exact same forms every yr and you lot only need to enter this years numbers (or download them) so the Deluxe contains everything most people need.

I find Intuit'southward web page very misleading : https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-ta ... east/desktop/

"Premier Recommended for: Investments & rental property"
"Home & Business Recommended for: Personal & Cocky-Employed"

Every bit someone with both investments and who is self-employed, Deluxe is all I demand.

I bought a college version one yr. It seemed that all it did was to have paragraphs of explanation available, all or most of which were taken directly from the IRS website. The data entry seemed identical to me, even on the topics targeted in the marketing for Premiere or to a higher place. Is there something else different most Premier vs Palatial?

Nope, the Deluxe CD or download version handles most people's situations. Last year I had a ton of losses from TLH, 2x backdoor Roth, dividends, interest, etc. normal BH stuff and it was no issue.

I think the previous poster is mistaken, the order gets separated into two orders, one for $xxx for TT and some other $ten order for the GC - they might be looking only at the TT society when they run into the $30 buy.

Folks I know this has been discussed, Palatial vs Premier, just I could not notice the answer to my specific question. I accept always been a Premier (or above) user just am thinking virtually Deluxe this time. For me I admittedly demand the software to be:
- able to import from ADP for W2, from brokerage houses for 1099s; particularly from robo advisors that could have a ton of transactions (e.g. Wealthfront).
- able to calculate penalties using the non-regular method (ie, not the curt method)
Does Palatial practice both? Thanks!

I have always used Deluxe and previously used the non-regular method well-nigh computing underpayment penalties. That said, that was maybe 5-6 years ago, then things could accept changed by now.
